Sketch of the day

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

This one is very recent. I used props and decided to make the drawing with molasses, which I dripped from a height onto paper. I also used crushed charcoal and white acrylic paint. For examples of conventional work see www.feline-artofcats.co.uk

I will be doing more such studies. I like to work in a highly experimental way, especially when dealing with such a familiar subject. One needs to dislocate one’s perception of oneself. I will be entering the National Portrait Awards this year. Check www.alan-dedman-artist.co.uk for more news on this (eventually) and Caberkid, no, you can’t take it to your ‘Blog’.
